Worship Ministry For the artist, one's craft is a language of expression and worship. Through art, be it
song, dance, or design, we can invite others to deep places of experience with God. Author Mike Duran said, “We write,
paint, carve and mold; we sit hunched over parchments and tape recorders, laptops and canvas, searching for the right word,
the right sound, the right image, yearning to rise above our earthly origins.” We long to create as we bear the image
of our Creator.
The Music
Hillsides music of choice
is everything from Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, David Crowder, Michael W. Smith, Darlene Zschech, Don Moen, Paul Baloche among others. We typically do a variety of music from your more alternative and
contemporary worship to traditional hymns that are often updated musically to incorporate our instruments and current music
stylings. You may come to Hillside and hear alternative music with an African flair, or you may hear us mimic bands like U2 or Journey, it all depends on what the Holy Spirit is up to on that particular day. One thing is for sure, the entire team loves worshiping
God through a wide variety of styles! And yes, we really did site U2 & Journey on our official website... 
Worship Team
The Worship Team is a dedicated group of instrumentalists
who lead in worship each Sunday. Rehearsal is from 7:00 to 9:00 PM on Thursday nights. Regular instruments used are 3 keyboard,
acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, drums and percussion. String players, woodwind players and other percussionists/instrumentalists
are used as available. Contact Jonathan Casas to schedule an audition for consideration for the worship band rotation or for other instruments. The technical ministry encompasses audio reinforcement, PowerPoint operation, recording, and video.

Get Involved The Worship and Arts Department desires to be a place where artists can come together and be
encouraged to use their skills to minister. We invite you to be part of this unique community. Areas of involvement include
worship band vocalists and instrumentalists, actors, dancers, fine artists, and audiovisual artists and operators. For more
