PARENTHOOD SERIES -- Discipline I heard a parent say, "Whenever I get a headache, I just
follow the directions on the aspirin bottle, especially the part that says, 'keep away from children.'" Well, I
know that's easier said than done, especially if you're a parent. If you're like me, disciplining your children
is probably your least favorite thing in the world to do. I read a quote (not a serious one) that says,
"Smack your child every day. If you don't know why -- he does." I don't advocate that at all, but I also must
confess that if my parents would have done that, I would have known why. This Sunday we continue our series called, "PARENTHOOD." We're going
to learn some important principles about discipline in parenting. No fancy title here, just a practical message called,
"Discipline." These principles apply to not only to parenting,
but to each of us who is committed to follow Christ. Being a disciple (follower) of Jesus requires discipline.
This is a message for all of us.
We're reading through the Bible together this year in the chronological order that the Biblical events happened. Here's a
link to the schedule: http://www.bibleplan.org/ch/niv/ (This is a corrected link. The link in
the previous emails and on the Hillside website was for the wrong year. The dates on this link are correct. The
HillsideCares.org website has also been updated. Sorry about that!)
