At Hillside Church we are excited about seeing teenagers become all God created them to be. That is why we have started Asylum Youth Ministries. Not only does Asylum mean “a place for the mentally insane” (which many people think is a very fitting name for a place where a large group of teenagers hang out), but Asylum also means “a safe place.” We are convinced, more than anything; the youth in our community need a place where they can feel safe – safe to be themselves without being made fun of. They need a place where they will be affirmed and encouraged; a place where they can experience the unconditional love of Christ in a very tangible way. We have proposed to be that place.

In everything we do, we strive to introduce them to the only true source of security – their Creator. He is the One who loves them with an everlasting, unconditional love; the One who will always be there for them. We teach and encouraged them to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. We also equip them and provide them opportunities to serve because we believe that our youth are not only the future of the Church, but that they are an essential part of the Church today.

“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in the word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” -1 Timothy 4:12 NLT

That is why we have made the development of Student Ministries a priority in our ministry. We propose to raise up students to lead, serve, teach, and disciple other students. We believe that is what is taught in God’s Word:

“You have heard me teach many things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Teach these great truths to trustworthy people who are able to pass them on to others.” – 2 Timothy 2:2 NLT

We are confident that as we remain faithful to God’s call in this, He will bring a harvest of young souls far beyond our wildest dreams.

“Now all glory be to God! By His mighty power at work within us, He is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.”  – Ephesians 3:20 NLT

If you are a Jr. High or High School student, than Asylum Youth Ministries is for you. Come see for yourself!
