40 Days of Love! Hello Hillside Family & Friends!
We have enjoyed week 1 of our 40 Days of Love and if you have not yet joined us, it's not too late! All of the home
groups have openings and there are groups meeting every night of the week except Saturday. It is my hope and prayer
that everyone who participates will become an expert on love. Of course, the best way to learn anything is to learn
by a model. When we see somebody else doing it and say, “Oh, that’s how you do it! I've got that!”
We always learn faster, quicker and deeper when somebody gives us an example. Who is the best example for love?
It’s Jesus Christ. Jesus was the only person with perfect love, with perfect understanding of relationships.
This Sunday, my message is called, "LOVING LIKE JESUS LOVES ME." We will also be remembering
how much Jesus loves us by celebrating Communion. Don't miss this wonderful Sunday!
I also want to remind you that we are planning a meal together this Sunday at the Church at 5:30 p.m. This will
be a wonderful time to see what was accomplished during the men's trip to Mexico. Everyone is invited.
Please let Ron Knapp know whether you will be attending and how many by emailing him at rrr.knapp@sbcglobal.net so that we can plan the food accordingly. Everyone will have a chance to share and talk about their experience and we
will have a full slide show along with some video that was taken in Rosarito. If you have pictures from the trip that you
have not yet provided me, please contact me so that we can put together a complete set for everyone. Also, please
be praying and thinking about what a next step would be for us. I look forward to seeing you Sunday! God bless! Pastor David Clift P.S. If you are in a small group for 40 Days of Love, but do not have
a study guide or the hardback book, The Relationship Principle of Jesus, would you let me know at PastorDClift@aol.com? I am trying to get a hold of as many as we need. Thanks!

40 DAYS OF LOVE BEGINS Hello Hillside Family & Friends!
First of all, sorry about that last blank email. I accidentally hit "send" before I even wrote anything.
I guess I am just so excited about the 40 Days of Love starting this Sunday that I got a little over anxious. Come and
be a part of our 6 week relationship series that focuses on the two most important commands in the Bible: to love
God with all your heart and to love your neighbor as yourself.
During the week you are invited to enjoy a warm and casual small group setting. We have groups meeting almost every
day of the week. All of the Sunday messages go along with our emphasis for this 40 Days. This week's
message is called, "LOVE MATTERS MOST!" Everyone is invited! Be sure
to jot your name down on one of the home lists in the church lobby to sign up for a small group. You can also let us
know of your interest by replying to this email message. Or... You can also sign-up ONLINE. Click here, then click on the top banner and it will take you to a page where you can sign-up. I'm looking forward
to see you!! Pastor David Clift 40

Hillside Happenings Hello
Hillside Friends and Family, Have you ever seen the gardening
product called “Miracle Grow?” It’s great stuff. You put it on your tomatoes and you get big
tomatoes. You put it on your flowers and you get big flowers. It does almost anything. It can’t do
everything, but it can do some good things. My question is this, is there any such thing as Miracle Grow for spiritual
growth, for personal growth, for Christian growth? Is there any such thing as something that can really help you go
to the next level when it comes to enjoying a lifetime of growth? I know people who feel frustrated when they hear others
talk about growing as a Christian. It makes some people feel guilty. Some people make it sound so easy, but it’s
not that way for a lot of us. You may attend church and even a Bible study, but you just don't see many changes
happening in your life. You may feel like you have a lot of the same struggles and temptations over and over.
Maybe you're wondering if you are a Christian at all. There is hope. There is the possibility of growth in
our lives. How do I know that? Because of what God’s promise is to us. This Sunday I am going
to share it with you in a message called, "HOW TO ENJOY A LIFETIME OF GROWTH."
It's great preparation for our 40 Days of Love. Speaking of that... Sunday,
February 22 is the launch of our 40 Days of Love campaign. We'll
be having weekly small groups studies and Sunday messages that
go along with our emphasis. Everyone is invited! Be sure to fill
out an insert in the church bulletin to sign up for a small group. You
can also let us know of your interest by replying to this email message. DON'T
MISS IT! SIGN-UP RIGHT AWAY! You can sign-up ONLINE. Go
to www.HillsideCares.org, click on the top banner and it will take you to a page where you can sign-up at the bottom of the
page.
I look forward to seeing you on Sunday! Pastor
David Clift P.S. I received sad news today that Tyler (the young man I asked you to pray for who had been in an automobile
accident and was in a coma) passed away today. Please keep the family in your prayers. Thank you.
