A Key To Living Longer!
Blog/Working_man_at_desk.gif

Hello Hillside Family & Friends!

What do you think is the secret of a long life? In a new survey recently, it was found that it does help if you come from a family of people that have lived a long life (I know, real rocket science there), and it does help if you take good care of yourself and exercise (well, we knew that one too).  But they found out that the #1 reason that people live longer is worker satisfaction, when people enjoy what they're doing. Wow!  Literally, the key ingredient to living a long life is enjoying your job.   We spend so much of our life at work and I believe God wants us to be fulfilled and even joyful at work.  I love my job.  I know what you're thinking, "Of course you do!  Your Boss is perfect - literally!"  True.  But I really think if we catch on to the truth that we are all really working for God each day, we will sense greater satisfaction and fulfillment in our work.  This Sunday I will be sharing a message called, "TAKE THIS JOB AND LOVE IT."  I know it will be a help and encouragement for you.

Hillside Happenings

 Hello Hillside Friends and Family!

Have you ever heard the phrase, "Easy come, easy go"?  Who is the idiot who came up with that?  I mean, the "easy go" part I can relate to, but I can't ever remember a time of "easy come."  In this economy, being able to earn a living is a huge difficulty and a seeming impossibility for some.  What does God have to say about all this?  Well, this Sunday we are going to blast some myths about money and consider God's principles for surviving in this crazy financial situation we find ourselves in.  My message is simply called, "GOD'S PLAN FOR FINANCIAL FREEDOM."  I'm excited to share it with you.

Hillside Happenings

Hello Hillside Friends and Family!

Well, we're a week into 2009 and I don't see the economy doing any dramatic turns upward.  While I think this may be a challenging year, I believe it will also be a year to watch God do amazing things and teaching us tremendous lessons in trusting Him.  Sunday we're starting a series of messages on God's Principles of Managing Our Money.   No, these aren't those "fork-it-over-until-it-hurts" kinds of messages.  That's not my style anyway.  But we all need help knowing how we can have financial freedom and the Bible offers great teaching about that.  It's going to be a great series.

We've had a great time of prayer each night so far this wek at the church.  Each night we are joining together at 7 p.m. for prayer to get ourselves in focus for this year.  We will be praying together Friday night and Saturday night at 7 p.m. so join us if you can.  We are having a time of worship each night at 6:30 if you are able to come earlier.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR Hillside Friends and Family!

In order to get ourselves going in the right direction this year, we are having a series of prayer meetings beginning this Sunday evening January 4, and running nightly until Saturday, January 10.  Each night we will meet at 7 pm and the meetings will go no longer than an hour (unless you want to stay longer).  If you are able to come earlier, we will be having a time of worship each night beginning shortly after 6:30 pm.  There will be a different emphasis each night so come to as many as you can.  Tuesday night we will incorporate communion in our time together.  We have a need for childcare so if you are able to help with this during the week, please see Pastor David or you can email him at PastorDClift@aol.com.  If you'd like further details, see Jason Ward.

Blog/money_sqeeze.gifIf you're like Cindy and I, you are experiencing financial pressures that make beginning another year very difficult.  On Sunday, January 11, we're starting a series of messages on what the Bible says about our finances.  Don't worry, these aren't those "fork-it-over-until-it-hurts" kinds of messages.  That's not my style anyway.  But we all need help with how we can have financial freedom and the Bible offers great teaching about that.  It's going to be a great series.
